hi, im using infinix hot 2 (x510) on 5.1. recently, ive been trying tp upgrade it's os. Unfortunately, it's not been successful because the laptop doesn't recognize by phone (even for file transfer), so is it possible to upgrade without using the USB and can I flash the new os through it's recovery mode. Note that I cannot perform OTA UPDATE

There are a lot of 'IFs' involved here.
If your phone isn't rooted and running on stock recovery then your only hope is to find the Marshmallow update in Tcard format or you need to first resolve your USB port.
To go the custom recovery way:
1. You phone needs to have already been rooted
2. Your phone needs to already be running on a custom recovery
3. You need to have the update in flashable zip format
4. You would have to opt for a Marshmallow custom rom if you're unable to get stock update in recovery mode flashable format

1) if phone is rooted, then you cant use tcard update. you had best fix the phone usb port in order to flash sp flashable marshmallow rom
2) custom recovery is more like advanced recovery, used to create and restore device backups, install custom ROMs etc (best do some research for better understanding)
3) the marshmallow update you'll find on hovatek page, is either SP flashable or Tcard (none of which you can use at least not unless you fixx the phone's usb port)

This means you'll have to flash X510 Lolllipop custom recovery using rashr then flash a custom ROM.
I would sincerely advise you focus on the USB connection issue

ones you have root access install flashify and official twrp apps from play store. Use the official twrp app to download twrp custom recovery for hot 2. Open flashify app navigate to the recovery download location install the twrp three times, do reboot till you install the recovery three times, when you push the yup on flashify it installs the recovery but don't reboot till three times. You can download any version of twrp but if 3.1.1-0 does not work you can use lower version.
