(19-10-2017, 09:24 AM)ham_samm I have downloaded the stock [infinix X521 HOT S (X521-J5088A1-M160929V90)
Infinix flash tool is saying "image lk checksum failed!
Checksum reference value (0x4305) in the config ini file.
Please re-fill correct checksum value and reload scatter file again"
Am running the latest sp flash tool 5.1728
My sp flash tool isn't opening it writing
"the application was unable to start correctly (0x0000005). Click OK close the application"

Try removing checksum.ini out of the firmware folder and retry flashing.

I just did what you said now
I uninstalled ALL DRIVERS
I then connected the phone to the computer, I noticed it
"Unknown USB Device (Device Description Request Failed)"
Under USB controllers that appeared and disappeared
And for USB Deview it just appeared there nothing happened

Seems the USB Port needs to be revisited.
Is the phone rooted / running on a custom recovery?
(22-10-2017, 12:40 PM)ham_samm None of the above

Was actually contemplating a custom recovery - SD card approach.
have the phone's USB port rechecked
(23-10-2017, 05:55 PM)ham_samm Yes it was even changed
How do I go about it because
I searched for custom recovery I couldn't find
