(26-10-2017, 01:28 PM)Evannstenny Hi everyone,

Am so glad and happy to know that Hovatek is home grown (ie from my own country). It gives my hope we will get there (Tech Greatness).

I have a Gionee Gn5001S with chipset MT6735 running on Android 5.1 Lollipop

I have rooted it with Kingroot but unable to to install TWRP on it.

I am hoping to use twrp to flash GApps on the stock ROM since that is just what I need for now.

Tahnaks for the help

Please can you share me the Kingroot you used to Root your device

Thanks.......

(03-11-2017, 01:11 AM)Evannstenny ..NB: The error I get when I flashed the last custom recovery (CWM) is

opening update package...
Signature verification failed
Installation aborted

I flashed using flashify

This sounds like stock recovery. Are you sure the phone actually booted into CWM recovery and not stock?
Could you list the options you have in recovery mode

Please can you help with Link to Gionee GN5001s stock ROM? I tampered with some apps found in the root and now my phone can't work properly without reminding every other second that system UI has stopped. I Google searched but I only saw ROMs for GN5001, I don't know if they are the same. Thanks in anticipation for your prompt response.

Sorry it long to respond, am actually the media head in my church and am faced with lots of responsibilities.

The error was completely mine to have the twrp did not work. I actually did not unzip before I flashed.
Somehow, it just occurred to me as I was researching this morning to unzip and try again, and voila! it worked!
I have a custom twrp on my GN5001s however I discovered it was upside down and operating it was difficult.

Could it be done so that its orientation will be upright. For example, when I touch anything on the top part of the
screen, it actually activated what was at the bottom. I don't want to make any mistake due to the disoriented touch screen.

Once again a big thanks to Hovatek. You are the best and am loving it

Just started a new blog and I hope to talk about you guys. Keep it up!!!

That's a kernel level issue. We'll have to port a non-touch recovery like CWM or Philz. I already ported CWM @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-208...#pid122648

A big thanks.

Can't the kernel stuff be corrected or will it affect the phone?

to correct, instead of porting you'll have to build twrp from the scratch for your device
