I have come to notice that my proximity/light sensor isnt responding ie not going off while making calls when phone is brought close to my ear, what could be the cause of this and secondly can i downgrade the phone back to kitkat?

might be as a result of buggy firmware [flash your old rom back to verify] or maybe faulty hardware and yes you can downgrade by flashing KK rom
btw these are both topics for a different thread

Bro your sensor issue is hardware not a software issue you
your sensor is faulty bro please check weather your phone can still rotate
to clarify where your problem is coming from and about your downgrade yes you can but to me the lollipop is more better cause is SDK 22 which means recent App can be installed

yes bro that problem is from the sensor you need to take it to a near by repair chop to fix or you do it your self
just need to cover the sensor or complete remove
if is completely remove note that phone we no longer rotate again so choose ur choice wisely
