Thank you. I followed the procedure with a DM98 smartwatch. The problem is that when I select the ROM_1, at step 20, then the windows shown at step 22 does not appear. I get the following message

"In the selected file: C:/TOOLS/DM98/MTK2/ROM_1, No necessary information was found to create the Scatter file.. "

Please could you help me? Thank you.

This is absolutely STELLAR. I'm from a Qualcomm background and when I got a generic MediaTek device in my lap that was made by a company who only has a placeholder website I was just.... well MediaTek sucks. This should be so much more well known. I was able to take supposedly "unrootable" devices and after obtaining bootloader unlock (through various, tedious means) root them and make usable phones out of garbage. I'm currently working on ROMs for some USA devices handed out to welfare recipients because fing hell people deserve a phone that actually works. Thank you.

Hi Hovatek... I just got this new device SuperD D1 so I tried this tutorial on it before installing any third-party apps.

I watched the video and read the tutorial pages as well.

So I did part 1 of creating the temporary scatter txt > generating ROM_0 through the readback process > processed it to preloader.bin using EMMC_BOOT1

but failes to get RAM test (it was showing DRAM Flip Test, Xenon intervened and clarified me on what to do)

I went back used EMMC_USER > got the full ROM length >  used it to do the full ROM_1 readback > it was done

Finally I went back to the WWR app on pc(32-bit Win 7 Ultimate) and processed both ROM_0  & ROM_1 > got the full ROM now (29GB.1 d same size as ROM_1)

All the partitions were backed up cache and userdata included.

BUT NOW THE PROBLEM IS B4 I GOT all the website I checked to read about the device says its chipset is MT6750T so I used MT6750 in the WWR (tried to add 6750T but it didn't work, gave me a mismatch error)

So after the whole backup I installed CPU-Z just to check other properties of the device but lo and behold is MT6755.

So my question is, is the full ROM dump valid or I have to repeat the whole process using MT6755 to get a new ROM dump to avoid crashing the device in case I wanna use MT6750 ROM?

PLS FORGIVE ME FOR THIS LENGTHY POST, it was the only to get the full picture of the situation.

the full ROM is valid but you'll have to repeat the process to obtain valid scatter file else SP flash isn't going to flash the firmware obtained.

...

most devices running MT6750 - 55 usually have this problem of displaying two diff chipset type. BTW CPU-z and app alike aren't foolproof, about phone shows mt6750. you can boot the phone into factory mode [vol down + power] and check for the chipset type under "version" that will help confirm which it is.
also if you tried flashing this rom dump you made using SPft, if your device truly is mt6755 then you'll get an error "chipset not match" or similiar

Thanks too boss...funny enough the full ROM backup has created its own MT6755 scatter file and I tested it with SP FLASH TOOL. The scatter file was accepted and all the partitions were checked correctly (ticked)

So the procedure is fool-proof. Credits to the developer of the app and Hovatek for making it known publicly, explaining the procedure and always helping us. Thanks

I'm heading over to the TWRP recovery Auto-port thread
