(03-08-2018, 07:41 PM)generation07 It flashed but could not boot into recovery.  At android screen,  it gives a peep vibrate and reboots into home screen.

Guess you'll need to stick to formatting /data or just avoid protecting /userdata

(03-08-2018, 07:29 PM)generation07 Thank you very much and very much appreciate it.  Sorry for the lengthened delay in replay.  I just flashed this recovery.img and the truth is,  it flashed successfully,  booted smoothly, the password request did not show but /data partitions is still 0MB. I even tried to format /cache partition but it failed with a feedback that "can't mount internal storage".
Right now,  the password problem is solved and it is completely removed but the /data is still 0MB, hope there is another way to solve that.

Showing 0 MB, formatting is about the way to fix that

That would be to not use pattern / PIN / Fingerprint etc

I think I have to stay away from this thread side you are giving solution at this thread: https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-232...#pid145062 but anyway: I deliberately removed any protection like pin or pattern and Co, but it still showed data as encrypted.

under Mounts and Storage Menu you'll see format /data and /data/media (/sdcard).
