So my tecno P5 S was so dusty, and I decided to open it up and do some brushes. I assembled everything back where it was and now the screen is black even when powered on. I can see the icons on the phone when I shine a torch on the screen. Please help on how to get the backlight on.

Have you disassembled and reassembled again?
What did you use in brushing? Dry brush or with a liquid? What liquid?

Do you know the screen connector? Check to see if it has rust, breaks ,burns or dirt.

Yes, I disassembled it again and then reassembled it back, but it still didn't work. I used a light toothbrush which was dry.

Maybe its more than you can handle. Take it to a repairs technician.

No matter whatever reason for your black screen Android phone, you can still restore the Android data back without hesitation. What you need is the Broken Android Data Extraction, which allows you to scan and recover lost and deleted data, such as text messages, contacts, message attachments, call log, WhatsApp data, photos, videos and audio files from Android phone with black screen.

Clearing cache partition is a common but effective way to fix Android black screen issue. That is because the caches on your phone would not only slow down the device but also interrupt the running the of the system. Thus, you can try to boot your phone into Recovery Mode and wipe the cache partition on the Android.

Firstly, power off your device by long pressing the Power button;
Secondly, press the Power and Volume Down buttons to enter the Recovery Mode;
Next, select the option wipe cache partition from the list on the screen and press the Power button to confirm your choice;
Finally, when the wiping process ends, you need to use the Volume Up/Down button to elect reboot system now option to restart the device.
