(20-12-2018, 02:27 PM)mr mazak Request sent. Now just need to wait and see if they do the right thing.

Edit:
NOPE.

its not all doom and gloom, at least they replied you. how about asking them for the firmware of the phone instead

I have new error now.
I have used the DA and Auth file from "MOBISTAR X" found on this post.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpos...stcount=50

This gave an error that the preloader format was incorrect.

Then I added the preloader from a device that came up when i searched for "k62v1_64_bsp" (this is the build name)
Supposed to be "VIVO Y91i"  (but it shows as Qcom soc) -- Downloading the VIVO Y83 rom now (it is MTK)

Now spflash seems to connect for 2 minutes and give ext_ram _error

Used the WWr tool and have room pulled now. But tool does not create final scatter file.
It gives "platform undefined" message.

You can grab a scatter file for your chipset @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-12724.html and (using the partition table details in wwr), edit the scatter file with your phone's address

I had added the device Chip to the "template.ini" but it was added as "mt6762" but in the preloader it is called "mt6765" so when i changed the entry in template.ini the scatter was made.

I have also used it to flash stock recovery and boot images. To verify it works. Then flashed magisk patched_boot.img.

Phone is now magisk rooted.

The twrp porting tool (version 1.3) on the other hand , I am not getting a working twrp. At least not one that will fastboot boot. That might just be a problem with fastboot boot though. I will try flashing it next.

EDIT:

nope, twrp just made bootloop with screen off. unplugging usb allowed loop to go back to normal boot, after normal android boot, rebooting to recovery was back to stock recovery.

I made one more organized zip, with da file, auth file, scatter, and needed preloader. All needed to get the read-back to work.

create a new thread for the twrp issue so we'll focus on it
see https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-514.html for how to create a thread
