Hi Høvatek ...I wanna root my Infinix smart 3 device using magisk ..I tried to follow the "Patch Boot image" procedure so I download a"Boot.Img" zip file here in Høvatek stock rom download page ...But what I noticed after downloading the file is that 'The Build number of the file I downloaded is different from the current build number of my phone because I have updated my phone ...so I want to know if I still need to flash it with my Spflash tool or there are other ways to root the Smart 3 "droid 9" device??

best you backup and use recovery.img for your build number, you can do so using the guide @ https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-21970.html and ensure to use custom DA for your model listed @ https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-23339.html
then root using the guide @ https://blog.hovatek.com/how-to-gain-tem...rt-3-plus/

Is it still possible to successfully use miracle box to backup Infinix Smart 3 firmware & use magisk to patch the boot.img then flash it via fastboot? I find this procedure simple for me. Thanks in advance.

Yes, so far you have the DA for the backup but you want to deal with recovery partition and not boot partition because boot won't get you root. Recovery will at least get you temporary root
