(07-11-2019, 01:07 PM)Yommy Gabriel Great job, God bless u, i was able to do all procedure with this info. Except decrypting. Pls is it only in the NVDATA am changing to encryptable or there are more? Pls if there's still more to change, can u pls list them bcus i only rename to encryptable in nvdata, though when i reset to factory reset, my phone was not brick but when i was trying to wipe data in TWRP, i am still getting the message decrypt. That's why i asked if there are still more encryptable to rename in file explorer. Pls kindly list for me if there is more because i don't know where else to rename with this.
Do this also in Vendor > etc > fstab.mt6763 or just replace it.

Vendor > nvdata > fstab.mt6763
Vendor > etc > fstab.mt6763

you're to edit and replace "forceencrypt" with "encryptable" in the 2 fstab files
perform a factory reset using stock recovery
then flash twrp

Hi, sorry for bothering again about fstab.mt6763 but I've some istances in different locations:
one istance is correctly in:
/vendor/etc
but there are others also in
/nvdata  (not /vendor/nvdata/) and in
/system/vendor/etc
Could you tell me what files have I to modify? Thanks in advance for reply.

Thanks for prompt reply, but as said my instance is in /nvdata, not in /vendor/nvdata, path is different ... Do I have to modify the one in /nvdata too? Thanks for your understanding.

nvdata is a sub partition of vendor, you only need to edit just one of two

I've been strugling for 2 days. An extra fix for those who did not made it work only with the given steps. After altering the fstab. files , to me the same were located in vendor\etc and \nvdata (NOT vendor\nvdata) the security status was still encrypted. Some dm-verity zip installers available on xda forums, produced on my MTK one of the 2 things:
A. "unknown ramdisk compression format ()" with dm-verity version 6.1
B " unknown ramdisk compression format(3037)" with dm-verity version 6.0
or
C. "Done "successfully and just after , remount partition /nvdata no such file or directory . - dm-verity corrupted the /nvdata.

Steps I did to successfully get encryption disabled:
Be sure you have majisk.zip available on your SDcard

1 Just after reboot into recovery TWRP - after OEM System reflash , do a backup of /nvdata , and /recovery (optional)
2 Run dm-verity script- the one mentioned at case C above (https://zackptg5.com/android.php#disverfe) . You can find on XDA similar
3 DO NOT reboot!.Go to RESTORE in TWRP > select and RESTORE /nvdata.
4. Perform steps fstab. described in first post
5. Clear data/ format just like described in the page one of this post
6. Install again Majisk - this will normally go with no error
Now you are good to go- boot into system- Your data - should be not encrypted this time- check into security settings.
