(10-07-2020, 01:17 PM)francisdrake005 Hello Team Hovatek,
I had an HTC Desire 626 dual sim smartphone with the following specs;

  1. MT6592
  2. Android version 4.4.2 (Kit Kat)
  3. 8GB ROM and 1GB RAM
  4. Dual sim card support
I have searched the internet for this phone's stock firmware to no vain.

A friend of mine had flashed an almost same phone ROM into the phone and rendered the phone totally useless with a black screen.
I wish to get this phone's stock firmware so that I can resuscitate it back for personal use.
Please team, help me find this phone's stock ROM. I live in Kenya. Thanks in advance.

What's the build number / file name of the firmware that bricked the phone?
Actually, the firmware was downloaded online and it purported to be the HTC Desire 626 firmware but was not, the firmware was downloaded from http://androidmtk.com/category/download. I have since realized the ROM was for HTC Desire 320 build number 1.03.707. Now, it has been futile getting the firmware for this device online with a build number and what keeps cropping in from the searches is the 3 HTC Desire 626 model variants, not knowing the specific one suitable for my device. I am also afraid of continually trying the remaining model variants for fear of what I'm already experiencing - a more serious brick.

you could try looking for a working phone with the same model to take a firmware backup from

seeing as you have a firmware at least "powers the phone on". if anything, you can always flash it back to bring it back to the current state of black display OR better still if you have other firmwares you wish to try, you could try flashing all except preloader

I am considering doing just that but I think the first mistake I did was to mistakenly flash the whole partitions including the preloader after everything stopped working despite the warning of never flash the preloader partition. I think this is where I should start from. I had already flashed the preloader partition, what do I have to do to rectify this?

your phone isn't totally dead so preloader isn't affected. from your first post, your phone powers on with black display so look for a working lk.bin or firmware as the case may be
