I have Nokia 1 TA-1066 on Android 10 that I want to root.
I have unlocked the bootloader, tried flashing and booting into TWRP with this https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-1...1-t3788807
but it didn't boot in recovery.
Also tried
Code:

adb reboot recovery

It was at "no command" state, then hold power button and tap volume up once... Only the menu was there to reboot system now and update with sdcard stuff...

Now I thought of rooting without TWRP i.e. rooting with flashing the patched boot.img,
How can I get the current boot.img to patch and flash?
There's no "signed" firmware of Android 10, I only saw those 8.1.0 Oreos. I also have the Android 10 OTA update zip which I used to update from 8.1.0 Oreo to Android 10.
I have SP Flash Tool and Wwr MTK tool too so what steps should I follow to get the stock boot.img only and patch it to flash and get root on the mobile?

Hello,

the phone is on bootloop of "Powered by Android" after flashing the magisk_patched.img with unticked checkbox beside "Preserve AVB 2.0/dm-verity" and
(I can't boot into fastboot mode) or (I forgot which keys to press because after pressing and holding vol down + power, it says "release the key to power off 9...8...7..." and reboots after countdown is over)

One thing i noticed is the scatter file from the backup I did is MT6735_Android_scatter.txt whereas "signed" firmware that I have is MT6737M_Android_scatter.txt i.e. MT6737M
I followed all steps to backup stock...

what should I do now?

Oh looks like I found the correct way to go to fastboot mode

  1. Shut down your Nokia smartphone.

  2. Connect the charger or USB cable and wait for the device to start charging.

  3. Now, press and hold Volume Down + Power key(s).
So now only problem is the patched boot.img didn't boot, nor did my previous attempts with TWRP recovery flashing and booting work.

Why is the magisk patched boot.img not booting but only bootlooping?
Is this because the boot.img is from backup and not from a "signed" firmware?
How do I get this root working?

I am not able to get root on my Nokia 1!  Huh

edit: There was no vbmeta partition (in the Wwr rom backup), so I didn't flash an empty one.

there's no vbmeta partition on this device, you won't need to flash empty vbmeta
did you unlock the bootloader of the device before flashing patched boot?

Yeah, I have unlocked bootloader.
The developer settings, OEM unlock says "Bootloader is already unlocked" too.

I tried the canary build apk from mega link, but it was stuck on checking for updates! Could be my network connection but I don't know, I will try again today.
