Please after using my hdd on a friends system, it keeps on requesting me to format it.. And i have a lot of important files in it.. ah donno if maybe there is any possible means to get the files back before i format or is there any way out?

can you see the HDD under Disk management?

Yes it shows one part of the hdd and the other part is asking me to format.

yes i can.. but the main part where all my files are located is asking me to format it.

try it while the drive is still unformmated tho i tried it while the drive was completely formmated

you can still try other softwares like testdisk, easyus partition recovery

what's the drive letter of the Hard Disk when you connect it to PC?
launch command prompt as Administrator and run this command

Code:

chkdsk H: /x

replace H with the drive letter

Consider recovering your data first, else you might permanently lose all your valuable data. You can use any recovery programs to get back those files, I’m using registered version of Stellar Phoenix software and R-Studio. These two are best in the industry and always helped me in recovering files back.

Once the data is recovered, you can go with formatting and start using the drive from scratch.
