So I saw on xda forum
on cm13 roms thread
that the developer will not be responsible
for any harm like dead sdcards etc.
I ignored that warning and flashed that rom
but after just 10 minutes I noticed
that I am unable to write any data
or delete any data from my memory card !!!
so I tried everything I can do to solve this
problem like tried all types of formatting
apps tools softwares !! tried from different phone
tried BlackBerry phones
Nokia phones
but I was unable to format it
and make it workable again !!! Sad
.
the problems with the memory card are following:
1. it mounts only for 30-40 seconds
( then it automatically disconnects or unmounts )
2. it has become read only
I can listen songs , open text files from it
but can't delete write format !!!
3. some Android phones just hangs up
they can't handle it when inserted
.
.
well let me come on the right topic now :p
so is this true that custom roms corrupt memory cards ?
.
after some days I had again tried flashing
custom roms many times
from different memory card
maybe 4-5 times 3 or 4 roms
( was trying different roms )
.
but that memory card didn't got corrupted or dead !
but again when I flashed a custom rom one day
again my that another memory card also started acting weirdly !!
I mean again that memory card also becoming read only !!!! same as my old memory card !!!!
but then I immediately turned phone off
and booted into recovery mod
and formatted that memory card with
twrp custom recovery !!
and that memory card started working good Smile
So after all my question is just !!
DO CUSTOM ROMS CORRUPT MEMORY CARDS ?

please answer
thanks in advance Wink

No, they don't corrupt the SD card in the true sense. What must have happened was that the ROM employed some Mods which formatted the SD card to an unsupported partition type. thats why formatting it back to FAT32 (which is supported) got it to work again. Sometimes, it could cause the SD card to crash and require certain devices which support such formats to read and format it.
