Before Android 5.0 (Lollipop), doing a factory reset on your Android phone would restore it to its original state like it was brand new. From Lollipop, doing a factory reset in recovery (when the device is still associated with a Google account) still requires that you supply the credentials of the Google account associated with the device before the factory reset was done. This is called Factory Reset Protection (FRP), a security / anti-theft feature.
If you find yourself locked out after a factory reset (and don't have the required Google account credentials) then this guide will come in handy.

How to remove / bypass Factory Reset Protection (FRP) on an MTK phone

Follow the steps below to bypass Factory Reset Protection on Mediatek Android devices

Format FRP Partition Using SP Flash tool
Using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21638.html , format ONLY FRP partition

Format FRP Partition Using NCK Box AndroidMTK
Using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-26275.html , format ONLY FRP partition

Miracle Box method
Follow the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-26640.html

NCK Pro box

FRP bypass apk
Follow the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-24072.html

How do I avoid the stress of factory reset protection when I need to do a factory reset
Navigate to Settings > Accounts and delete / sign out of the Google account associated with the device

Please help! My Gionee M5 refused to boot afterwards. I did it with Method 3 (Miracle Box). It also nolonger recognizes USB, neither charging with AC or computer.  On long press of the power button for 10s, the boot screen comes on and quickly off. Please help, I'm stranded!

Battery must've gotten drained.
No need to panic, leave to charge
