EFS partition is the partition that contains IMEI number, Mac address and some other very important data on some devices e.g original samsung.

It was actually Nexus devices, especially 6P, the announcement was made for, and a Samsung owner commented that he tried it on his phone and it didn't get bricked. Moreover, when I checked the backup feature, nothing like EFS was listed among the partitions. I just asked so as to be on a safer side because EFS might rather be automatic with a NANDroid backup.

nothing to worry about.. your device has an nvram partition instead of efs
BTW you should always have a handy backup of your device
