(19-12-2016, 09:40 PM)hovatek TWRP is a custom recovery which allows you do quite much as opposed to stock recovery like backing up, restoring, flashing custom ROMs etc
another alternative is to dump secro and nvram (scatter format) using Miracle Box @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13347.html
I think this'll be easier for you as opposed to TWRP

Also, the download page for the Miracle Box after the 'click here to download' isn't showing any links

(20-12-2016, 12:12 PM)nivlek From what I understand in the link, seems like the process is to create a backup of phone files and nothing else. How does that fix the error pop-ups On the phone? Or there's more to the process?

its our standard protocol for you to backup your firmware, secro and NVRAM incase something wrong

The miracle Box file on the link is infected. Downloaded the one with the loader.exe and my antivirus detected a couple of threats in it

Ran the app but it's not working. I'm getting a "Can not connected box, please check cable_box".

And I downloaded the option with +loader.exe as recommended on the miracle Box Thread For those without Box

Now, I suspect your phone has malware.
First, we root then freeze suspicious apps one at a time using Link2SD
Root the phone using the latest version of Kingroot (with internet connection)
let me know once rooted

Isn't flashing supposed to remove any malware from the phone?
And as per the suspicious apps, I actually avoided putting back any apps on the phone for a while after flashing it then. When I did, I only put the basic, whatsapp, bbm and such. And I also made sure to have them re-downloaded from playstore and not restored from backup to avoid any reInfection of the newly flashed ROM by apps backed up before the flash. But these all still proved ineffective to the pop-ups
