(30-12-2016, 11:47 AM)nivlek Isn't flashing supposed to remove any malware from the phone?
And as per the suspicious apps, I actually avoided putting back any apps on the phone for a while after flashing it then. When I did, I only put the basic, whatsapp, bbm and such. And I also made sure to have them re-downloaded from playstore and not restored from backup to avoid any reInfection of the newly flashed ROM by apps backed up before the flash. But these all still proved ineffective to the pop-ups

Yes, flashing ought to remove them but I've seen malware result in similar errors, which is why I intend to investigate:

-unfortunately com.android.process.gapps has stopped
-unfortunately com.android.process.acore has stopped
-unfortunately android.process.phone has stopped
-unfortunately android.process.media has stopped
-unfortunately Google Services has stopped
-unfortunately Instagram has stopped
-unfortunately LookOut has stopped

Have you rooted?

Haven't been able to yet. The two Kingroot apps I found on Google playstore seem not to be working. Is there a thread on the site here with the real app and rooting process please?

If you're using a PC, click Download using Browser. If you're on mobile then you'll need to install the Mega app

Downloaded the app from PC. It's the same rooting process for Tecno and infinix as explained on the thread, yeah?

And btw, I tried opening the scatter file from my miracle Box backup with SPF this morning, but it keeps crashing the SPF app. Is that normal? Or do I need to do another backup before the rooting?

Copy the Kingroot apk to the phone and install it. launch it (with internet access) and follow the prompts
For the scatter file issue, what version of SP flash tool are you using?

Just completed the root process after a couple failed attempts.
