How to Root a Xgody N9200 - Buleste - 02-28-2016

Okay. I have an Xgody N9200.

MTK Droid & Root tools gives me the following results.

Hardware : MT6580M
Model : N9200
Build number : N9200_FAGY_X5 20160109-102142
Build date UTC : 20160109-022142
Android v : 5.1
Baseband v: MOLY.WR8.W1449.MD.WG.MP.V6.P2, 2015/11/05 15:43
Kernel v : 3.10.72 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.8 (GCC) ) #1 SMP Sat Jan 9 10:17:48 CST 2016

but cannot root or create a scatter file for it. I managed to create a firmware.info file manually However when I load that file into MTK Droid tools it outputs a MT6516_Android_scatter.txt which is apparently illegally named so I change the scatter to M6580M_android_scatter.txt which SP Flashtool loads fine but If I try to read back the ROM I get the error message.

"BROM ERROR:S_STORAGE_NOT_MATCH(3183)"

I would like to be able to create a recovery and if possible Root the phone but so far all my attempts have failed. Also Back up the stock ROM I have with my phone.

Can anyone help?

Have you tried Kingroot 4.8.0?

RE: How to Root a Xgody N9200 - Buleste - 02-29-2016

I've tried Kingroot, Kingoroot, towelroot, Rootgenius and many other roots.

I have managed to get a ROM image with SP Flashtool and tried "To process ROM_ from Flashtool" but I get the following errors in MTK Droid Toold and root.

_ForFlashtoolFromReadBack_160229-100750\copying is complete

-- __nodl_nvram.bin ...it is copied
-- __nodl_protect1 ...it is copied

-- uboot.bin ...it is copied
-- boot.img - The signature isn't found!
--- ERROR of a signature, ROM file is read from phone incorrectly!
ATTENTION! File /system/recovery-from-boot.p which restore factory recovery in case of phone switching on in a normal mode Is Found!
After CWM Downloading in FlashTool, turn on phone only in the recovery mode! Press and retain volume-up with the Power button. The cable shall is connected to PC!

RE: How to Root a Xgody N9200 - Buleste - 02-29-2016

I've managed to root but I'm trying to backup the ROM and create a recovery but when I connect to MTK Droid Root & Tools I first get the following message

--->>> Connect to device <<<---
--- ERROR : --- TotalBytesPerChunk Not Found. Set default Page/Spare=2048/64 !!!
ATTENTION! File /system/recovery-from-boot.p which restore factory recovery in case of phone switching on in a normal mode Is Found!

When I press ROOT It starts to process but the following message is added

ATTENTION! Requests for confirmation on the device screen are possible!

And then I get a pop up window

CRITICAL ERROR

Loss of communication with the device. The programm will be closed.

The phone then loses the ability to use the usb port without a reboot.

RE: How to Root a Xgody N9200 - Buleste - 03-01-2016

I've installed Busybox 1.24.1-Stericson removed and cleaning app. According to MTK Droid and Tools I have Free space: system- ; data- 406.3M; E:\ 10132M and that's after I've gotten rid of most things.

The only error I get on starting now is

--->>> Connect to device <<<---
--- ERROR : --- TotalBytesPerChunk Not Found. Set default Page/Spare=2048/64 !!!

And I've done everything I can AFAIK.

Unfortunately though when I run Root on MTK D T & R after the bar progresses a short distance I here the unplugging sound from my PC as though I've removed my phone and MTK DT&R crashes.

MTK Droid tools doesn't support your phone

Do you know of anyway I can add recovery to it then?

RE: How to Root a Xgody N9200 - Buleste - 03-01-2016

Can anyone turn this Firmware.info file in to a Scatter file that works in SP Flash Tool so I can create a backup and a recovery?

RE: How to Root a Xgody N9200 - Buleste - 03-01-2016

Okay. After downloading MTK Droid Tools & Root 2.5.3D and adbd-Insecure-v2.00.apk I've finally managed to get further and can now backup my device. However I get the following message

--- In phone files will remain in the folder: /mnt/sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/160301-183848/
--- We keep blocks:
- nodl_proinfo - ERROR : Zero file, no space left on device!
--- We keep folders contents copying on PC
- /data/nvram
- /system
--- We pack everything kept in archive: E:\Recovery Tools\Mtk_Droid_Tool_v2.5.3d\backups\N9200_160109_backup_160301-183848.zip
--- task end with ERROR ---

I have over 870mb on the Internal SD of the phone. 20GB free on the SD card and even more on my PC hard drive.

When the backup is created there is no files.md5 either to go on to the next step.
