(24-09-2017, 04:35 PM)losilmalem HOVATEK ROCKS!!! :-)
I finally tried TWRP Ported by Hovatek for Tecno Variant 3 and it worked whereas I have installed stock Tecno C8 variant 2 ROM on my phone and it worked like a charm (tried variant 1 stock ROM, the flash process went till the end with successful notification message but never will the phone turn on. I didn't try variant 3 stock ROM).
Does it mean that I have TECNO C8 Variant 3, please? Shall I then flash a Tecno Camon C8 stock ROM do that to have my phone fully right responsive?
PS: I had made a stock recovery (the one installed on the phone when I bought it) based backup of my phone before flashing it (with Tecno Camon C8 variant 2 stock ROM) after it got stuck on Tecno logo but can't restore the data on the new system I flashed. I'm wondering whether reverting  to a Tecno Camon C8 variant 3 stock ROM can help me restoring all of my data.

I HEREBY APOLOGIZE IF IT'S NOT THE RIGHT WAY TO POST THIS... SORRY IN ADVANCE.

The variant 1, 2 3 etc naming is an old naming method we were using before we switched to a more reliable Build Number naming. When we discovered a new variant, we just assigned it the next available number starting from one so just because TWRP for variant 3 worked for your phone doesn't mean your phone is a variant 3 stock rom.
Infact, just ignore the variant number and focus on Build Numbers.
If the TWRP has worked and the ROM you currently have installed is working then you're good.
As for restoring your stock recovery backup, please create a new thread for that to avoid a micup

Okay. Got it. But please tell me! Can I know the build number of my phone at the time I did the stock recovery backup using the backup files in .backup format ? If I could, it would be easier for me to revert to my old ROM then and get all my data back.

Unfortunately not. That only backed up /userdata not /system
