(08-01-2019, 07:59 AM)ryfoz Hello boss(es) I am back on this project and I need a working Custom recovery to flash Custom ROM

Noe where Xenon helped me to get to the last time was a working 3.0.0 TWRP but the internal storage isn't showing and he made mention of something about my scatter file not leaving enough room for a working recovery to work above 10MB

My stock recovery is 7.28MB

Pls any new method to port one? Be it philz or cwm, or twrp

My device is lollipop and rooted

that twrp had external sd working right?

Okay, nice but now the ROM I want to port wasn't built for my device but for a similar device with same Chipset and kernel

Now I want to replace the files but from YouTube tutorials they keep talking about META-inf which I don't have. What I have is a full STOCK ROM and the PORT ROM.zip

I have Assayed Kitchen, Android Image Kitchen, MTK THAI DEVELOPER, and Carliv kitchen

How do I use them to produce META-inf for my device before using the mount points inside of it for the PORT ROM

pls help and I would be very grateful

But I was think if the META-inf is produced when packing images as zip then perhaps if I first do a TWRP backup in zip

Then.extract it afterwards then I can get META-inf as part of the zip file and it will be compatible for my device

But what I don't understand is how can I create that nandroid backup without my internal storage and system not mountable?

META-inf is always in custom rom flashable zips, the port rom you have there should contain this as its a custom rom
this topic should be on a different thread btw

I guess you didn't read my post carefully. When porting I have to come files from META-inf/com/google/android/updater-script of STOCK to PORT

Now I don't have any META-inf from my STOCK ROM (FLASHABLE SP FLASH FORMAT NOT ZIP) to use for the porting

Do you know how I can get this for/from my Stock ROM before porting process

2ndly, made mention of this port ROM not for my DEVICE EXACTLY but has same kernel and chipset, so I have work to do b4 flashing it in TWRP else I brick my device

Lastly, I am open to any title I should give the new thread (it's a minor issue so creating a new thread doesn't change the fact that it has to do with Custom recovery)

I tried to create a Nandroid backup today so as to have a fallback zip to flash with the TWRP I posted before and here's what I saw

No cache (or is zer0)
No boot too
Data is showing zero MB
I got some errors in the BACKUP process

and the backup isn't in zip format, is it still OKAY to test a Custom ROM now or not?

UPDATE!

I have managed to manually port another similar device TWRP for it v3.1.0 and it works well (boot, data, system & recovery shows and Nandroid backup completed without error) BUT my screenshots are not saved in any of my storage

How can I fix this?
