UNABLE TO ROOT GIONEE M6

Hi guys. I recently got a gionee m6 and I am unable to root. I tried flashing with philz recovery and both superSu and magisk methods didn't work. I really need to root this device so I can use it. I would appreciate any help right now because I am a novice to these things. Thanks

are you able to boot into philz recovery?
did you get any particular error message when you flashed supersu or magisk?

I am able to boot into philz recovery yes. Flashing with magisk failed but supersu was successful. When I check root status, it says not properly rooted

What's your phone's present Build Number? Also, try Supersu 2.78

What's your phone's present Build Number? Also, try Supersu 2.78

I tried rooting with supersu 2.78 which happens to be the latest.

My phone's build no is attached.

actually thats two version below the latest version (2.82)
which other versions have you tried aside from 2.78 ?
2.78 ought to work for you, did you get any errors when you tried flashing it?

Sorry, I actually flashed with 2.82 and not 2.78. Should I flash with 2.78?

Leme flash with 2.78 then. I will report my progess here when I'm done. And by the way, I didn't get any errors while flashing with 2.82. The process was comoleted

I just flashed 2.78 and it still didn't root properly

SuperSu already patched your boot. You need to flash back the stock boot.img for Magisk to be able to patch it
Before trying that, download the latest version of Magisk zip (v15.3) attachment @ https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/ma...s-t3473445
then try flash that in Philz recovery. If you still get an error then you'll have to download a Gionee M6 firmware at https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-389.html to get the boot.img which you'll then flash to your phone. Its best you download a firmware for your build number
After flashing back stock boot then you can retry flashing Magisk zip in Philz
