was there anything wrong with the phone before you decided to charge?
and have you tried disconnecting / reconnecting the battery?

disconnect / reconnect the battery and see if it still persists
you'll need to loosen the phone to get to the battery

if you don't know how to, then its best you get someone with more hardware experience to assist you with loosening the phone

Press the power button for a long time.
Then release and try again.
