Could never get the Homtom Ht70 to flash using SPFT, tried all different version, 5,1844, down to as an older version would allow.  This was done using, windows and linux.

Downloaded stock rom from homtom.cc, when tried to flash, or even do a readback, received the following attached error:

BROM ERROR: STATUS_DA_HASH_MISMATCH (-1073283068), MSP ERROE CODE: 0X00

Before the phone was bricked, was able to root, unlock bootloader, install TWRP and flash the individual files using fastboot flash.  Well, flashed the preloader.bin, instead of the preloader_verified.img and it bricked the device.  Now am unable to turn the phone on, and still get the error, so can't recover the phone.

Am able to flash other mediatek phones in windows and linux, so it is not a driver issue.  The Homtom phone does not read as MTKxx Preloader though, forced it to read as MTKxx preloader in windows, but same error.  Linux it reads as:

Bus 003 Device 021: ID 0e8d:0003 MediaTek Inc. MT6227 phone

Have even taken the phone apart and tried jumping points, still nothing.

have you tried disconnecting / reconnecting the battery of the phone after flashing? then check if it powers on afterwards
did you try using this version of SPft supplied by homtom @ http://www.mediafire.com/file/ee5kvii2xo...0.zip/file ? (and all the DA files within the compressed zip)

and you're supposed to flash preloader.bin and not preloader***.img (preloader.img contain extra junk data)

The PC doesn't read the phone after disconnecting the battery.  Tried the SPFLASH homtom provides, and, all button combinations.

Bought the phone from AliExpress on a sale.  It appears that this preloader from their website is incorrect for my phone.

Even took their da file and tried flashing other versions of SPFT.  See a new version is available, on SPFLASH, going to try that.

does the PC make any sound when you connect the phone? does device manager refresh?
do you remember the original build number of the phone?
there's a second firmware build for HT70 listed @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-15788.html
how many DA files did you try within that particular SP flash tool version?

It's V02

Device manager refreshes, shows up as MTK USB, can install vcom preloader drivers, still same error.

Started at by running spflash 5.1824, loaded DA files going backwards until I got to v5.15 then got an error, would have to do that all over again to say what error, since it was weeks ago.

Okay, this was the error

This happens (attached image) using v5.1844 with any MTK_AllInOne_DA from v5.1616 and earlier

If I try using v5.1616 and load the MTK_AllInOne_DA from above that version, it gets stuck on Download DA for a few minutes then gives the error:

Quote:BROM ERROR:STATUS_PROTOCOL_ERR(-1073676283) ,MSP ERROE CODE: 0X00

Unable to load scatter file in SPFLASH starting at v5.1604 and earlier, get an error that the load scatter is invalid

uninstall & delete all vcom and mtk drivers using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-7660.html
install vcom preloader driver using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-440.html
disconnect / reconnect the battery of the phone then retry flashing without holding any buttons

This error indicates that the DA isn't compatible or accepted.
Have you been able to bump into a Hompton Auth File?
On a parallel note
in sp flash tool window, press control + alt + v
it should enable advanced mode, now click window at the top menu > then write memory
Try writing any partitions's file (get the address from scatter file). I doubt it'll work but I just need to confirm

Hunted all over the net for an .auth file, even tried some just to see, didn't work.  Did the memory test before, and got this

An auth file seems to be the next thing to try. We'll list if we acquire any for this brand
