Hi everyone,

(See the attachments)

I am out of options ..
My girlfriend's phone (Umidigi S5 Pro) was starting to get slow/buggy, so she decided to reboot the phone. After rebooting, it was stuck in a boot loop for 2 hours before completely shutting down.

We plugged the phone to charge it for a few hours but the phone isn't reacting to anything at all (when we plug it in to the wall, the phone doesn't automatically turn on or vibrate)
- We tried holding the power button for 30s
- Holding power+VOL up (and vol DOWN) for 30s
- Holding Power+VOL UP+VOL down at the same time for 30s
Nothing appears to work. The phone's screen remains black and no vibration occurs.

However, when we plug it in the computer (Windows 10 PC), the computer detects the phone as a MediaTek USB Port (COM3). But, it keeps ''disconnecting'' and ''reconnecting'' in the device Manager.

So what I tried :

- I launched SP Flash Tool
- Selected ''Download Only''
- Located the correct scatter file (I have the same phone personally, I know some basics about SP Flash tool)
- Clicked on Download
- Plugged the phone in

When I do that, the MediaTek USB Port does not disconnect from the device manager. It stays connected BUT the Download DA portion (red bar) stays stuck at 100%... After a few seconds (30 s to 1 min) it generates the error message (0xc0010005)

After doing some research on this forum, I found that the error 0xc0010005 is related to a communication issue with the phone.. I tried:

- A different USB cable
- A different USB port (USB 2 and 3. Front and back of the tower)
- A different computer
- A reinstall of the MediaTek drivers

Nothing appears to work Sad

Please help

(10-02-2021, 12:41 AM)techassembly64 ...

try disassembling the device then disconnect / reconnect the battery of the device then check if it can power on
if not the you can try disabling protection and flashing using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-37957.html

Thank you so much! I will only be able to test this on friday but I will remove the back panel, disconnect the battery and try again

And I did not know that a DA bypass was possible (this is great!)

I will give you further updates on the weekend

Disconnected the battery (followed all your instructions) - same results Sad

Tried to bypass secure boot and I am getting a different message (see attached)

This seems to indicate its not secure boot.
The power state needs to be stabilized first.
Leave connected to charger for 2 hours (of charging time) then reconnect to PC and see if the constant connection-disconnection persists.
If it does then retry flashing to get that stead MediaTek USB Port
Now, you update this MediaTek USB Port as explained @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-16839.html using the MTK VCOM drivers to Mediatek Preloader USB VCOM Android
If successful then retry flashing

Thank you for you reply,

It was successful (for the driver install, turned off the Driver signature enforcement) but it still gets stuck at ''Download DA 100'' ... Sad while seeing ''mediatek usb port '' in the device manager (with no Preloader or anything like this)
I am starting to feel hopeless

try flashing only preloader i.e untick the other files except preloader
also try flashing with the battery disconnected

When connecting to PC, try holding volume down then connecting. Also try Volume up, Power +Volume up then Power + Volume down
