I have a LAVA iris 820 device with Android MM. It's a MT6580, and unlocked.
I have the stock ROM with its scatter.txt file, and also a full partition backup via the Miracle Box. All these files are in .bin extension (eg. boot.bin, recovery.bin).
I was able to obtain boot.img and recovery.img (each 16MB) via readback function of SP Flash Tool. But, when tried to create a patched boot and recovery images via MTK Droid Tool, it failed with the error, "ERROR :No Split Boot Image". Several blogs mentioned that MTK Droid Tool not compatible with MT6580 devices.
I tried all available one-click rooting methods like KingROOT, but they failed. Miracle Box has a rooting option, but it also failed, and ended-up just saving a boot.img to the PC.
Out of the box, this phone doesn't come with a workable stock recovery--it just displays an android logo with "no command".
Appreciate very much if anyone kindly help me or guide me to a method which can port TWRP recovery and/or root my device.
