i am trying to port a kernel for my device,a tecno q1,from a kernel for the micromax a110,with the same chipset, mediatek mt6577.the problems i am facing is the lack of kernel sources for my device, and plain-old inexperience on my part.here is the thread of the kernel i want to port from xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthre...?t=2683095
it has jb and ics support and a beta kitkat build.link to the source code is at the end of the first post.it also has overclock and zram support, and the kernel will be useful, since i can't port any jb rom to my phone without a compatible kernel.
Also i want to upgrade the cwm recovery on my device from 5.0.5.5 to the latest, possibly 6.0.4.4 or 6.0.4.8.i need a stock recovery.img for this, but i can't dump it from my device as the cwm has been installed.sources for building or porting cwn 6.0.4.4 with touch for medatek devices can be found here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthre...?t=2471479
unfortunately ,my phone's resolution isn't listed,but it's reverse 320x480 is there.
for cwm 6.0.4.8,i am thinking of using the online cwm builder, http://builder.clockworkmod.com ,but if i use the recovery.img dumped wih my cwm,it generates a recovery.img with no ramdisk and thus it cant boot.
here are the details of y failed kernel and clockworkmod porting, any help from the devs here is greatly appreciate since i am a noob at this.thank.
it would be nice if a kitkat kernel could built for the device,as i am waiting ktkat to be released on certain mcromax devices with the same chipset as mine so i could port it.
