Quick guide showing how to rename files & extensions in windows OS. I'm using recovery.img to recovery.bin as examples
Method 1
Open control panel >
file explorer option >
View tab >
untick the checkbox beside "hide extensions for known file types" >
OK
File extensions will become visible after the steps above you can then rename the file e.g from recovery.img to recovery.bin
Method 2
Open the folder containing the file you want to rename >
hold shift key and right click on any empty space in the folder then select open command prompt or powershell window
type the command below and hit enter (replace recovery.img with the filename you intend to change
& replace recovery.bin with the new filename)
Code:
ren recovery.img recovery.bin
