Steps to port CWM custom recovery using MTK Droid tools
Follow the steps below to port and flash Clockworkmod (CWM) custom recovery to a Mediatek device
Install PdaNet (+Adb driver which is included in the PdaNet installer)
Backup the phone
Copy the boot.img from your phone's stock rom back up on your phone's SD card to your PC.
Enable USB debugging on your phone (settings > developer opions) then connect it to your PC
Launch MTK droid tools. it will read your phone and display your phone's details
Click root at the bottom of MTK
On your phone, grant MTK super user permissions
Let MTK complete (the box at the lower left must change from yellow to green)
Once it is green, click on the root.backup.recovery tab
Tick 'To choose d boot.img file'
Click on recovery and boot
Navigate to boot.img which you copied to your PC from your phone's custom ROM backup folder then select it
Click Yes till you get a prompt whether to install ClockworkMod on your device or not
At this stage, your ClockworkMod image would have been created. You can optionally chose to install it yourself later or let MTK install it for you.
Congratulations! You now have ClockworkMod installed.
Important Notice
This method will only work on old Mediatek chips since MTK Droid tools doesn't support newer MTK chipsets
Its recommended that you backup your firmware before going ahead to install CWM just incase the device gets bricked
