First some information about my phone which may or may not be pertinent.
Model: Leagoo M8 pro
stock rom : marshmallow 6.0 freemeOS .....loaded out of the box with malware I believe called tridata.
Turns out the phone is a clone of another called, Kruger & Matz flow 5 Plus, running android 7.0.
Due to malware worries I installed Kruger Rom and phone works perfectly and even camera firmware is better as it now takes a decent enough picture in low light and no malware.
Using Hovatek twrp recovery Porter v1 and Kruger stock recovery taken from firmware zip file using Winrar.
Created new twrp recovery and flashed via sp flash tool using scatter file from the same Kruger rom and unlocked bootloader via developer options before flashing
Booting into recovery failed to bring up twrp.
Phone shows "powered by android logo" and usually afterwards twrp will start up but screen flickers for a moment and powered by android logo reappears and phone boots up normally. Powering off and trying again to boot into twrp, but only to find stock recovery reinstalled by itself.
