P80X G5K6 patch boot image issue
P80X G5K6 patch boot image issue
(26-01-2021, 07:50 AM)Vincentaria I followed the guide in the forum to patch my P80X G5K6 boot.img by using Magisk Canary channel, signed and flashed in fastboot, the problem is the device keep showing the Teclast logo after flashing the patched boot img without booting into system, I tried:
1. Patch the boot.img by both Magisk Canary and normal channels, but don't work at all
I'm wondering if it's because the latest version of Magisk patch have compability issue with P80X, may I know the specific version of Magisk patch zip which is workable with P80X boot.img? Or is it caused by other problems?
Appreciated your help

did you create and flash a custom vbmeta with custom key for boot?
(26-01-2021, 02:49 PM)Vincentaria Yes, I created the custom vbmeta and secussfully flashed it and boot.img on the device without problem

see step 2 @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-37734.html ; check and ensure that you extracted the last partition properly. quick check could be done using hxd to open all extracted keys and ensure they have the same end offset

I checked this and there is no problem with my keys. Actually I can boot the device if I only flash the custom vbmeta, so I believe the custom vbmeta is ok, but as soon as I flash the signed magisk patched boot.img, the device will stuck at the boot up logo forever. I already tried to patch the boot.img by both latest Canary and normal channels in Magisk manager, but both don't work at all. That's why I think the latest magisk patch zip has compatibility issue with P80X.
I zipped all files of my device for rooting in below link, could you help to check it? And may I know the specific magisk zip version which you used to patch the P80X boot image without problem? Thanks.
