[Tutorial] How to change SWIFT 4G wireless password and SSID

(This post was last modified: 11-04-2017, 12:31 PM by hovatek. )

Your Swift Mifi or CPE's SSID is that name that people see (under available networks) when they wish to connect to your Wifi (wirelesss) network.
If you do not secure your wifi with a password then you are sharing your hotspot with everyone around (free swift wifi).
.The default password to your SWIFT 4G LTE hub Wireless / WiFi is located just under it and usually written in front of Wi-Fi Key (WPA/WPA2). To change from this default password to a preferred one:
  1. Connect to the SWIFT Wi-Fi using the default password; its Wi-Fi Key (WPA/WPA2) located under the modem
  2.  Once connected, launch your browser
  3. Open http://homerouter.cpe/, or
  4. Login using your credentials. If you've never changed them then its

    Default username: user
    Default password: user

If the above credentials don't work then try

    Default username: admin
    Default password: admin

  5. When logged in, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Basic Settings
  6. Under Wi-Fi Basic Settings, you can change your SSID, Hide SSID broadcast , Wi-Fi password and other settings
  7. Click Submit when you're done
  8. To easily reset the password to the default, simply press the reset button on the Swift HUB device
  9. The Reset button is not present on the Mi-fi devices
  10. You could install the free Swift wifi app (by Huawei) for easy management of connected users
