SUCCESS!!

It worked great. I had a scare first, because the scatter file that I made gave an error when loading into SPFlashtools. I do not have any clue why this was the case.

I loaded a file that worked and changed that again, step by step. This new scatter file looked exactly the same as the original one I made, and now SPflashtools worked.

I flashed the recovery.img that can be found in the link above and the booted into recovery and installed the SuperSU.zip file and ..... well, check out the included picture.

The first thing what I did was to backup my rom using TWRP and make sure that I made a copy to my computer as backup.

Next, I used the information of http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/...l-t3180978 and installed the Resize_v23-signed.zip file via TWRP and that was a breeze...

Now I have the phone setup the way I want, with a 7.85GB internal memory partition and a 4.47GB phone partition. The rest is reserved by the system I guess.

That wraps it up. I have been saved!!

Many thanks to HOVATEK for the swift replies and the help with the files.

This leaves me with 2 questions... perhaps for another thread?

1) How to make a TWRP-recovery.img file myself based on the substracted recovery.img from my phone.

2) Suppose I want to make a default rom that can be flashed via SPflashtools. Which files do I need? Normally, one would use MTK droid tools to make a backup rom, but with the MTK6735 processors that is not possible.
I want to know, because there is no official rom available for the Mijue T200 and I want to give back to the community.

Cheers,
Sven

1. We'll drop a guide on that soon
2. Readback one partition at a time usingĀ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-526.html
3. Zip and attach the scatter file you used so others can use it too

Hi there!

I have a Mijue T200 too and I only want to increase its internal storage partition of 2GB as simple as possible.

Before I screw up something, I'd appreciate if you could indicate me all the steps that I would need to take (for dummies), since I find these things so difficult with many external references, things to have done before a certain step, files and such and I wouldn't like to screw up my phone (I was already scared when I tried to reboot it pressing volume down + power when I saw a menu in Chinese and I couldn't turn off the phone by pressing the power button and the battery can't be removed).

1) So, the first step would be to set the phone on developer mode (tapping 7 times on Build number), then go to Developer options and enable it and also USB debugging so that I can move files from the PC to the phone, right?

2) Download "SP Flash Tool", "TWRP for Mijue T200 ported by Team Hovatek" and "SuperSU.zip" from this thread and "Resize.zip" from xda-developers to my PC.

3) Connect the phone to the PC via USB and enable the PC to access the phone memory. copy both SuperSU.zip and Resize.zip to my SD card and phone memory.

4) Launch SP Flash Tool, pick the Scatter-loading file included in "TWRP for Mijue T200 ported by Team Hovatek", mark only Recovery and click Download? Would this automatically pass and install/flash the custom recovery to the phone that is connected via USB, or am I missing something here?

5) Boot the phone into custom recovery by pressing volume down and power while it's turned off. Select option of recovery. Install the SuperSU.zip file from the phone (how to do this?)

6) Boot the phone into custom recovery by pressing volume down and power while it's turned off. Select option of recovery. Install the Resize.zip file from the phone (how to do this?) in order to resize the phone memory by indicating the new size of /data partition.

Thank you very much in advance.

+1 for a good walktrough. I find the phone also totally useless with only 2 gb app storage, but i'm afraid to mess things up since i'm a noob when in comes to phones.

IN THE DEVELOPMENT OPTIONS, THERE IS ALSO AN OPTION TO UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER. I TURNED THAT ON AS WELL. I DO NOT KNOW IF THAT IS NECESSARY AS I DID NOT CHANGE THE BOOTLOADER, BUT JUST IN CASE

2) Download "SP Flash Tool", "TWRP for Mijue T200 ported by Team Hovatek" and "SuperSU.zip" from this thread and "Resize.zip" from xda-developers to my PC.

YES

3) Connect the phone to the PC via USB and enable the PC to access the phone memory. copy both SuperSU.zip and Resize.zip to my SD card and phone memory.

YES, YOU MIGHT NEED TO INSTALL SOME DRIVERS. YOU SHOULD COPY TO AN EXTERNAL SD CARD!!

YES. TURN YOUR PHONE OFF AND KEEP IT OFF. THEN AFTER YOU SELECTED DOWNLOAD - CHECK OUT THE VIDEOS ON HOVATEK FORUM!! - PRESS VOLUME - BUTTON AND KEEP IT PRESSED AND THEN CONNECT THE PHONE VIA USB TO COMPUTER. CHECK ALSO http://irisbuddies.blogspot.nl/2015/08/t...rrors.html IN CASE OF ERRORS

5) Boot the phone into custom recovery by pressing volume down and power while it's turned off. Select option of recovery. Install the SuperSU.zip file from the phone (how to do this?)

AFTER FLASING THE CUSTOM ROM HAS BEEN INSTALLED VIA SPFLASHTOOLS, DISCONNECT THE PHONE AND BOOT INTO RECOVERY. IN MY CASE, I DID THIS BY PRESSING VOL+ BUTTON, KEEP PRESSED AND THEN PRESS POWER BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME. KEEP THIS UNTIL YOU SEE (VERY TINY) THREE OPTIONS APPEARING. ONE OF THEM IS 'RECOVERY MODE'. IF YOU SELECT THAT ONE, YOU GO TO TWRP RECOVERY (IF FLASHING WENT WELL). THE FIRST TIME, YOU NEED TO ALLOW TWRP RECOVERY BY SLIDING TO THE RIGHT (YOU WILL NOTICE THAT ON YOUR SCREEN).

THEN IN TWRP RECOVERY SELECT 'INSTALL FROM ZIP' - SELECT THE SUPERSU.ZIP FILE ON YOUR EXTERNAL SD CARD AND RUN THAT ONE. AFTERWARDS REBOOT THE PHONE AND YOU CAN CHECK IF IT IS ROOTED.

6) Boot the phone into custom recovery by pressing volume down and power while it's turned off. Select option of recovery. Install the Resize.zip file from the phone (how to do this?) in order to resize the phone memory by indicating the new size of /data partition.

YES. IF THE PHONE IS ROOTED, BOOT INTO TWRP RECOVERY BY VOLUME + AND POWER. ON THE 3 ITEM MENU, SELECT RECOVERY MODE, THEN YOU GO TO TWRP RECOVERY. IN TWRP RECOVERY SELECT 'INSTALL FROM ZIP' AND THEN SELECT THE RESIZE.ZIP FILE FROM THE EXTERNAL SD CARD (THIS IS IMPORTANT!!! EXTERNAL SD CARD, NOT ON THE PHONE ITSELF!!!). FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE SCREEN AND READ THE XDA FORUM THREAD FIRST.
DO NOT GO OVERBOARD ON THE NEW PARTITIONS. I HAVE SOMETHING LIKE 8 VS 4 GB AND THAT WORKS VERY NICE.

Thank you very much in advance.

I have augmented your questions with BOLD answers if necessary.

I have been a newbie to this as well, but if you are careful, not that much can go wrong.
