This guide will explain how to build or create a Spreadtrum (SPD) .pac file from backed up files. Although we'd created a guide on using Infinity CM2 SPD dongle to create a pac file , this guide will come in handy for those who don't have the CM2 hardware dongle but can get the separate files, hoping to build a PAC file out of them.

Requirement

Steps to make a .pac file from the backup of a Spreadtrum Android phone

Follow the steps below to build a Spreadtrum pac file using Research Download tool

See the video below or @ https://youtu.be/FB7sgrudXdk

    [Image: build-SPD-pac-using-research-download-tool-17.jpg]

  12. Enter a name under Product Alias (maybe phone mode) and a number (maybe build number) under Product version then click the browse icon in front of Saving Path

    [Image: build-SPD-pac-using-research-download-tool-11.png]

  13. In the window that pops up, navigate to the location you wish to save the .pac file, give it a name then click Save

Important Notice
  • The BMAConfig.xml is different for each model
  • You can edit the Hovatek-SC7731E entry in the BMAConfig.xml to suit your model.
  • Avoid using files for another model, including FDL 1&2.

Video Transcript
Quote:In this video tutorial, I will be explaining how to create a spreadtrum pac file using research
download tool. You need to have the files for the phone model which you intend to
build into a pac file. Your FDL 1&2 are very important. Now these files should
be in .img format; boot, cache, persist, prodnv
recovery, system, vbmeta and vendor. You can rename to .img format. Your
fbootlogo and logo can be in .bmp format and the rest cab be in
.bin . You need to copy this BMA config xml file into the research download tool folder. Its just a
template okay? Replace if prompted and then you scroll down to
launch research download tool
you wait while the dashboard comes up
okay now that we're up, you click the Settings icon and then you should be in the
download settings menu now you load the fdl file I'm starting with
FDL 1 . You tick, double-click and then you click the Browse icon. Navigate to the
location of the file, select, click Open. Now for fdl 2, double-click, click the
Browse icon, navigate to the location of the file, select. Now for the remaining files
take note of the Base1 column. This gives you an idea of the file name so for
this for example w_fixnv1 I have the file here so to
load it, just tick, you double-click under file name, click the Browse icon, navigate
to the file, select it and click Open. I'll do the same for Prodnv I have
prodnv here so I check the box, double-click, browse
icon, select the prodnv file and then open. You do that for the files you
have in your folder; load them one by one. I'm clicking PhaseCheck, EraseUboot
and I'm leaving out EraseUbootlog. I don't have SPL_Loader. I have Vbmeta so
I'll load Vbmeta
Open. w_modem; I have this
so I tick the box, double-click, browse, select, Open... so you do that for
all the files you have so I'm going to load the files one at the time
For userdata, I don't have userdata so I'm going to skip that. Its not listed
here. You might just have to do a factory reset after you flash this kind of pac so
I'll continue with logo, I have that. For any file you don't have, just leave the
box unchecked and move to the next
I don't have this particular ones so I'm just going to skip them then I'm going
to tick EraseRuntimeNV. You can tick EraseMisc if you want. So I
move on to Trustos I have that so I'm going to load the
rest
all right so I'm done loading the files. You can just go through your list to be
sure everything is in order. Only check boxes you have files loaded
for. Now go to the Options tab and then you uncheck Repartition. Go back to the
main page and then you can come down here and click Packet. Click yes. Click
yes to continue. I didn't select all files.
Now under Product Alias and Product provision you
can have maybe the mobile phone's model and maybe the build number respectively or just
any number and then for Saving Path, you click the Browse icon and then select the
location you wish to save the file to, you give it a name and then you click
Save
now you click okay
so you wait while the tool builds the pac file
alright. Once you see Packeting complete, you click on OK and
then you can navigate to the location where you'd selected and you'll have the pac file
That's how to build a Spreadtrum pac file using Research Download tool and the backed up
files

for fdl 1 &2 , you'll need to search for compatible ones. a good place to look would be from the pac file of a phone thats similar to yours.
as for the nv items, it would help to know how backup was done
