if you just need some files from the system folder, why dont you try pulling the /system folder directly from a working phone?

Mr Dennis, could you be so kind as to let us know how you extracted the system. IMG? I have one firmware from lenovo vibe b that is acting the same way and I search for a means of extraction but up to no avail! I know you are quiet a champ at porting,so please help! Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,

Dennis didn't post his method, but I am happy to share with all of you the tool that I found to work with this. The name of tools pack is "FbWinTools_v1.1" made by some Russian people.

The problem with this .img file is it is some "Fb" format. The format is supposedly made by MediaTek. Anyways, this tool is able to convert that format to ext4 filesystem image, and then we are able to extract it with any other known tool. This tools pack that I mentioned has all other tools needed to successfully extract the actual .img file.

Please consider trying this if you're struggle with extracting your .img file. I struggled for few days and it was really frustrating. Smile
