Hello, great job on this wonderful and helpful site to all of us MTK android users and sorry for posting in the wrong thread. I have the Vodafone Smart Tab grand 6 10.1 inches,
http://www.vodafone.gr/portal/eShop/Voda...-6-10-inch
Android 5.1, rooted with Kingroot v4.9.3, busybox pro v50 installed

My aim is to root the tablet and have supersu and Xposed so that's why I'm trying to use a custom recovery.

I have tried Kingroot v4.9.3 which I got now and working with but 2 months ago I used supersume app to remove it but instead it bricked it (bootloop, hard reset didn't fix it) and I had to sent it to Vodafone to fix it so I'm trying to be very careful now. I read in XDA I think that Kingroot intentionally bricks the devices if you try to replace it with SuperSu.

I have managed to do a backup with Miracle box (https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13347.html) which to my understanding is the tool like flashing kdz to LG phones but it instead reads from tablet.

I have done a full backup (ticked all the boxes) and I have a question, can I use the "Write" instead of "Read" in Miracle box to restore the tablet if it's bricked? Or it won't work and it'll need repair again?

From MT6580_Android_scatter.txt file created by Miracle box:
Quote:- general: MTK_PLATFORM_CFG
info:
- config_version: V1.1.1
platform: MT6580
project: mtk_android
storage: EMMC
boot_channel: MSDC_0
block_size: 0x20000

and from build.prop:
Quote:ro.product.board=MT8321
ro.board.platform=mt6580

CPU-Z reports SoC "MediaTek MT6580"

Block Info from MTK:

as you can see I can't create a scatter file from there

Trying to make a recovery with "To use boot from phone":

Trying to make a recovery with boot.img (renamed from .bin from Miracle Box backup), Yes to "make CWM recovery automatically":

I've sent hovatek my boot.bin and recovery.bin created by Miracle Box by PM to examine them and tell me what to do next

Thanks A TON for porting TWRP for my device, really appreciated, works like a charm.

I'm struggling to install supersu and remove kingroot though, kingroot somehow is being able to run with SELinux on enforce mode while if I remove it, either with Simply Unroot or with Kingroot's uninstall feature in settings and install SuperSu 2.76 with TWRP SELinux doesn't allow SuperSU's su to run, even though it doesn't show any error while being installed in TWRP

Also Xposed (v86 sdk22 arm) can't be installed in TWRP, says "Failed: /system could not be mounted!"

Are you able to do a full backup in TWRP?

Yeah, all good, screwed up while trying various things and restored from TWRP backup many times. I have also a Miracle Box backup before flashing TWRP with Flashify to be sure
