The first method worked  for me. I copied all the partitions except for internalsd. Please the question now is, how do I know the file by their names and extension they should have? These are the list of the partitions I domped/backup .
1. Boot
2. Cache
3. Fbootlogo
4. Logo
5. Misc
6. Miscdata
7. Prodnv
8. Recovery
9. System
10. Userdata
11. Wcnfixnv1
12. Wcnfixnv2
13. Wcnmodem
14. Wcnruntimenv1
15. Wcnruntimenv2
16. Wsdp
17. Wfixnv1
18. Wfixnv2
19. Wmodem
20. Wruntimenv1
21. Wruntimenv2
Those are the list of the partitions I backup/domped. What I want now is how do I know which of these partitions is
1. Fdl1.bin
2. Fdl2.bin
3. Uboot.bin and the rest and how to name them.  At least I know for system, userdata, recovery and boot, they are (.img) extension.

Secondly, the userdata I backup/domped has 2.92GB of size how do I fix it, I tried using yaffey and it did not work.  I want to make a (.PAC) extension that I can flash cus my phone is spreadtrum and I don’t know these files raw like that.

New thread* created for this issue, as per request. Feel free to delete this post and the response.

* https:// www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21648.html

BACKGROUND
I recently bought a Note 5 (SM-N920C), dirt cheap because it kept freezing and/or restarting shortly after booting into Android. No amount of factory resetting, partition wiping and firmware flashing did anything but make the issue worse. In the end even in recovery and while switched off but charging, the phone would freeze and/or restart.

The full story is in a single thread on XDA. It gets interesting.
https:// forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/freeze-restart-t3718887

The thing is, I was ready to send the Note 5 out to have its motherboard replaced, but:
1) even when the phone froze and/or restarted even while switched off and charging, the download mode would never freeze or restart. Odin mode was always rock solid;
2) from time to time, everything will just settle. No more crashing, everything smooth for days.
Which leaves me wondering if the problem is software after all. Whether the previous owner borked (data in) one of the partitions that doesn't get affected by normal flashing, but which some unknown process corrects from time to time but leaves pretty fragile.

If you'd like to promote this issue to a thread of it's own and help me figure out what's going on, I'd be happy. For now though, getting back to this thread.

QUESTION
My phone is prone to crashing, due to causes I've yet to determine. Right now it's working smoothly and I'd like a full backup of the EMMC, all partitions, everything, to restore to. By 2018, what's the easiest and most reliable way, with minimal modifications to the currently working state of phone, to backup and restore the full EMMC?
