Someone else was having a similar issue @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-1439.html but in his case, wcdma wasnt working despite flashing MTK backup. a CWM backup was what fixed it and that means it was some config error. now, if the phone has baseband and can detect SIM then its a config error and the solution is between the MP0B method and Mobile uncle method. If that doesnt help then I'll send you a d5 NVRAM backup to use via MTK droid tools as a last shot.

1. Go to Mobile uncle home screen
2. Click on Engineer Mode
3. Select Engineer mode (Android)
4. Select Phone information
5. Click Turn on radio

Turn on radio and it off by itself. The fons internal memory gets filled up automatically without installation of any application. I cleared the fon memory and same tin hapnd. Dahm confused.
