I guess its kitkat cos mine is pre-installed lollipop..so no custom recovery can work for it.. I have flashed up to hundred custom recovery yet no one works so i came to realize that infinix has started locking up their bootloaders and provide strong security so that tweaking becomes difficult. I mean you can not flash custom roms, recovery and co to their new devices.. The simple truth is that i hv realised that some infinix phones cant be tweaked no matter hw hard you try n ds my fone is one of them.. Anyway tanks for all ur effort to help esp hovatek n co..
Have you tried checking oem unlock under developer option and then use adb to reboot into bootloader and unlock it?
To enable developer options go to Settings/about phone and then tap build number around 7 times
Open developer options and check oem unlocking
Set up adb and fastboot on your pc
If it shows your device continue to
adb reboot bootloader
Fastboot oem unlock
Then press volume up to confirm
Then flash a custom recovery and see if it will work
It's just an idea
I could have tried on my phone but I don't have sd card to backup my data
