try booting using adb method @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-11444.html
also flash back stock recovery and see if you can boot to recovery mode

I think I have the same phone, I know there are multiple variants of x551 1gb and no custom recovery is working and currently there is no solution to that problem

thats a lie, that recovery above works alot, i used x551 nd dats d recovery i always used to root my fone.
yes i agree with u that after flash it still takes u to stock recovery.
here the simple trick

just flash the recovery
immediately after flash, make sure at first time u try booting to recovery, it should take u to recovery. cos once it escape the recovery and boot up, it will automatically revert to stock.

and whc means u will have to flash again

and once it boot to recovery at first after flash, thats all.

see my both thread of xposed installer thats the recovery i used in flashing the xposed framework zip
https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-12964.html
https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-9807.html

The same tyn i used in rooting

https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-7779.html

so jst follow the simple trick above
Cos am 100% sure of that recovery above cos it works for all variant of hot note.

thanks

You're not sure of what you're saying, I have had a couple of them, but there are some of them that won't boot into custom recovery!
I actually deleted the file that restores stock recovery in system/recovery from p
There was a time i had 2 identical x551 and one couldn't boot into custom recovery and I'd flashed the same files on both

I have flashed and followed exactly the procedure you said bt it still cant accept custom recovery @mboy when you bought ur own infinix which version did it come pre-installed with? I guess its kitkat cos mine is pre-installed lollipop..so no custom recovery can work for it.. I have flashed up to hundred custom recovery yet no one works so i came to realize that infinix has started locking up their bootloaders and provide strong security so that tweaking becomes difficult. I mean you can not flash custom roms, recovery and co to their new devices.. The simple truth is that i hv realised that some infinix phones cant be tweaked no matter hw hard you try n ds my fone is one of them.. Anyway tanks for all ur effort to help esp hovatek n co..
