* Update: For those having trouble rooting, follow the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-15271.html

Procedures

* Install VCOM drivers on your PC using https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-440.html
* Download SuperSU 2.76.zip at https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B_-waNKLv...t=download
* Copy the SuperSU.zip to both the phone’s SD card and internal storage
* Download
TWRP for Wiko U Feel (Lite) ported by Team Hovatek @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-14604.html
TWRP for Wiko U Feel (non-Lite) ported by Team Hovatek @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/attachment.php?aid=2770
* Switch off the phone (still with battery inside)
* Flash the TWRP recovery.img to the phone using SP Flash tool at https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-159.html
* Boot the phone into recovery mode using Volume up button + Power button (see https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-479.html )
* In TWRP, if you get a prompt asking you to swipe to allow modification of the System partition, tap KEEP READ ONLY
* If TWRP offers to root the phone, select NO
* In TWRP recovery, tap Install
* Navigate to the location of the SuperSU 2.76.zip and select it
* Swipe to confirm flashing of SuperSU.zip and wait till flashing is complete
* Reboot the phone normally
* Confirm Root by installing and running Root Checker

Warning - also didn't really work for me, I'm now stuck with a soft-bricked phone that doesnt boot Android

This is what I did:
1) activated developer options of Marshmallow phone settings (enabled USB debugging)
2) set 'Allow OEM unlock bootloader' option in developer options of phone settings
3) unlocked bootloader using FASTBOOT (was successful, checked in FASTBOOT)
4) flashed TWRP recovery image from the above post using FASTBOOT
5) booted into TWRP (success!)
6) chose KEEP READ ONLY option in TWRP, was not asked whether device should be rooted
7) flashed latest SuperSU (from chainfire web site) zip file using TWRP install option (some mounting error messages, mainly NV_DATA...)
8)rebooted system

Observations:

a) systems hangs, doesn't boot android (stuck with screen: WIKO, game changer...))
b) TWRP recovery works
c) fastboot works

I'm not sure whether the phone soft-bricked due to flashing TWRP or flashing SuperSU afterwards (didn't boot it up between TWRP flashing and rooting).

BTW the scatter file attached to the TWRP recovery file for the WIKO U FEEL (non-light) doesn't work with SP flash tool (crashes). Probably because it was created with miracle box.

Questions:

Since I dumped the whole phone using miracle box before flashing TWRP/rooting I should be able to recover my phone. Which images do you thing I have to flash?

SYSTEM.IMG?
BOOT.IMG?

Tried flashing SYSTEM.IMG (renamed SYSTEM.BIN) using FASTBOOT but it didn't accept the image file.
Tried flashing in miracle box but gave a strange writing error (read back in miracle box works though).

Any advice to get this phone running again? Can the dumps created with miracle box be flashed with SP flash (after renaming the .BIN to .IMG?).

Does anyone have a scatter file for the WIKO U FEEL (non-lite) that's working in SP flash tool?

Help would be very much appreciated!

Probably because you didn't unlock the bootloader before?

But I recommend to wait until the issues I had (see post above) are resolved.

Your mistake was No. 6 You didnt give permission to write so it was not possible for supersu to gain root permission because it was in read only and not read and write.
You can use spflashtool after renaming if it doesnt automatically choose the files you can manually navigate to system.img

Flashed system.img and phone boots again, thanks!

@bartos38 Thanks, your scatter file worked with spflashtool!

@matybazz: could be that not granting write acces was another problem, but this shouldn't have done any harm to the system partition then which prevented booting android.

@bartos38: had the same error messages when booting into flashed TWRP, my device also got stuck in first boot screen.

Anyone here successfully rooted the WIKO U FEEL (non-lite)?
