[Please help] Damaged USB storage

Lightbulb 

Ever since I increased the internal memory of my Tecno G9, when i restart it, it shows USB storage is damaged, try reformatting it. 
Please what can I do??? 
And also as a result of this some apps aren't working, even the hovatek app, it will show me the message 'unfornately, Hovatek mobile has stopped working'. 

PLEASE HELP

What was the size you increased it to?
Hope it isnt upto 4GB

What was the size you increased it to?
Hope it isnt upto 4GB

I first did it to 4GB and I was told to take it to something lower, I did that and there was no difference. And there was a time it went off and didn't come on so the stock I used to bring it back was the stock for the 4GB, so atm its 4GB

Wipe phone storage under Settings and Wipe emmc in factory mode (Vol down + power)

Please for the wipe phone storage under settings do you mean  factory data reset? Because I'm a lil bit confused on that. But I understand the emmc in factory mode

Goto settings>storage and Erase storage

Thanks, I've done it, and I restarted it didn't show the USB is damaged message again. But some apps are not still working, like the Hovatek mobile, it will display unfortunately, Hovatek Mobile stopped working

did you try uninstalling / reinstalling those particular apps?

The Tecno G9 has issues with a number of applications.
Uninstall and reinstall the app from Playstore
