Reading system...
>>SUM ERR:A800000 60000000 FF000

EDIT: I installed the latest preloader driver and it read all fine.

What's my next step to create a custom recovery now that I have a full backup?

just restart the phone and PC then try again.
To make things faster, start by backing up only recovery, boot, preloader, nvram and secro . untick the rest

were you able to extact recovery.bin.
An easier approach would be to download the firmware for this exact model online.
Let me know which of the two you're able to do.

Yes I backed up everything in Miracle Box, tried 4 times to extract everything in batches but I think the scatter files needs fixing since if I use in SP tools it auto closes with an error.

If I upload recovery.bin can you please help me create a custom TWRP recovery?

Thank you very much !  Angel

I attached scatter files generated with Miracle Box and recovery.bin

https://www.sendspace.com/file/pvg2vw

Attached Files
.txt   MT6580_Android_scatter1.txt (Size: 8.39 KB / Downloads: 0)
.txt   MT6580_Android_scatter2.txt (Size: 8.56 KB / Downloads: 0)

Here's the TWRP recovery @ https://hovatek.com/redirect.php?link=ht...p6WXM/view

there are two methods you could flash with; Miracle Box or Fastboot
Lets try Miracle Box first.
Rename the recovery.img to recovery.bin (using your phone's file manager) then copy it back to the PC.
Flash only preloader and the TWRP recovery.bin using https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-14106.html
waiting...

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

I flashed with fastboot since I already have unlocked bootloader:

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

I successfully booted into TWP 3.0.2.1.

YOU ARE THE BEST MY FRIEND!

EDIT: I rooted by flashing SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip

EXCELLENT!!!! I'M VERY HAPPY!!

By the way, do my scatter files look ok, they were created with Miracle Box? When I open in sp tools I get errors and it automatically closes.

I would like to use SP flash tools instead of miracle box so I need working scatter files.

the scatter files can't be used directly with SP flash tool
I STRONGLY advise you keep your Miracle Box backup safely and do a FULL backup in TWRP

Okay thanks for your help so far.

I noticed issues with TWRP, when I restore the data partition I get this error:

E:extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR=255

Have you tried this more than once?
