Gooday Hovatek team, Pls i need assistance with my hot 2. I would like to root, install TWRp and flash a custom rom. But it seems my bootloader cant be unlocked due to a bug according to some comments i read on XDA.
First i want to root without unlocking so i could use titanium backup of all my apps and data before i take any other step. My android runs marshmallow. Your help would greatly appreciated. Cheers and seasons greetings.

THks for the reply. I just checked the above thread...doesn't installing twrp require bootloader unlocked? Also, if i go ahead with guide step by step, will my apps and data still be intact?

Pls the download links in the above thread are not working.

1. No need for unlocked Bootloader
2. Shouldn't affect your apps & data
3. All links work fine. what error are you getting?

WaS getting error 404. But its working now. Thanks a bunch. You guys rock. So am guessing without an unlocked bootloader, i won't be able to flash a custom rom. But what about using xposed?
