The Tecno Camon C7 (e.g C7-H355A1-M-160705V9 ) is an MT6735 powered phone running on Android 6 (Marshmallow)
How to root the Tecno C7
- Dump your firmware in scatter format using Miracle Box @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13347.html
- Download SuperSU 2.78 @ https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457084094631642692 and save to both phone storage and SD card
- Create a new folder named Hovatek on your PC
- Copy preloader.bin from your Miracle Box backup into the Hovatek folder
- Download TWRP for Tecno Camon C7 ported by Team Hovatek @ https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4S-Z72...pVaVU/view
- Copy the TWRP recovery.bin and scatter file from the TWRP zip file downloaded above into the Hovatek folder, making peloader.bin, scatter file and recovery.bin (TWRP) in the folder
- Flash the preloader.bin and recovery.bin using Miracle Box @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-14106.html
- Boot the phone into recovery mode (Vol up + Power) after flashing
- In TWRP, if you get a prompt asking you to swipe to allow TWRP modify the system partition, tap KEEP READ ONLY
- In TWRP recovery, tap Install
- Navigate to the location of the SuperSU.zip and select it
- Swipe to confirm flashing of SuperSU.zip and wait till flashing is complete
- Reboot the phone normally
- Confirm Root by installing and running Root Checker @ https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...heck&hl=en
(29-09-2017, 03:28 PM)gervinho243 Hello Hovatek
I've done everything, but when I try the command to access the recovery, there's no TWRP installed.
I tried to use the SP Flash Tool instead of Miracle Box, I'm facing an issue when flashing.
Any help?
(19-05-2018, 06:42 PM)marktormark Hello, i followed the above procedure on rooting tecno c7 but once the twrp is flashed i get into a boot loop, if i restore back the system using miracle box which i had previously backed up i get back to the stock recovery. How do i flash the recovery and not getting into boot loop? Have tried thrice with the same outcome of getting into boot loop.
