I've tried many methods on the web to delete windos.old folder with no success. I'm running dual boot windows 7 and windows 10. The folder is in windows 10.

Boot your PC in Safe Mode and retry deleting, or delete one folder after another.

What error do you get when deleting?

seeĀ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-15585.html
open the window.old folder thenĀ take ownership of each folder one after the other (after taking ownership of a particular folder, then try deleting it)
this may not work if you try taking ownership of the entire windows.old

OR you can try this easier method
* Click on Windows search field, type Cleanup,
* Click on Disk Cleanup
* Click the "Clean up system files" button
* Wait awhile for Windows to scans for files, then scroll down the list until you see "Previous Windows installation(s)."
* Tick the box next to it, (make sure there are no other boxes ticked
* Click OK to start the cleanup.
