In this thread, https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-15270.html there are two method to root Gionee S_plus running on android marshmallow 6.0.
I tried both those methods but the phone's inbuilt recovery is not changing. In the sp flash tool method, the message showed "success" but when i tried to go to recovery mode by holding down power+volume up button, it takes me to stock recovery instead of flashed custom recovery.

In bootloader unlock method, the following thread said, "When the phone enters Fastboot, load the TWRP recovery to the phone by typing the command "fastboot boot recovery.img" then pressing Enter
The phone should automatically boot into TWRP recovery mode.

Now in this part, my phone does not automatically boot into TWRP recovery mode instead of that, it stuck in black screen. After manual rebooting the phone when i try to go to recovery mode by holding down power+volume up button, again it takes me to stock recovery which means, the the custom recovery is not flashed.

Please help me to root this phone.
N.B. Tried those method on Gionee S_plus build T8227

Its possible your Build Number is higher than that which the recovery was ported from.
1. What's your phone's current Build Number?
2. Do you have the firmware for your exact Build? If not, dump your firmware in scatter format using Miracle Box @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-13347.html
