Hi Patron.

I'm stuck with these frequencoes, wich canada dont use.

2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz
4G: FDD-LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz

Knowing that my phone has MTK6537 chip and is able ru run others bands, What would be the best approach to enable these freq?

LTE 1700
HSDPA 850/1900
HSPA+ 850/1900
UMTS 850/1900
WCDMA 850/1900

Thank you in advance!

Regards

Mike

depends on if truly your device supports these bands.
download and install "MTK engineering mode" apk from playstore
launch the app > telephony tab > band mode > sim 1 / 2
the freqs with tickable boxs beside them are the ones your device supports

I've been told, that due to $$$ licensing, exports etc , Manufacturers,  by software way, don't enable all frequencies.

Peoples are talking about BPLGU file and stuff like that to enable bands.....

I'm not affaid of bricking it since it's practicly unusable right now. (no service provider in Canada having CRTC  licences at these freqs.)

Yes, this somewhat revolves around secro, nvram APDB&BPLGU.
If there's a device of that same model that supports the band you want then just get those files fromo the firmware for that device and flash to yours.
Just ensure to dump your full firmware / have a working firmware incase things go south.
Note that sometimes, it requires specific hardware to support certain bands
