As a specialized manufacturer for rugged phones for nearly 10 years, the only thing that NOMU wants to do is to provide customers more choices when they choose and decide to buy a rugged phone. Towards that goal, the company has released models like Nomu T10, S10, S10 pro, S20, S30, and S30 Mini.
The company claims Nomu T18 will be the most professional rugged smartphone to date, featuring a removable camera and supporting the Walkie-Talkie function on hardware.
It’s a truly functional rugged phone. Besides excellent water-proof and drop-proof performance, it has walkie-talkie, fingerprint unlock, external camera, NFC, OTG, etc. It’s totally an all-in-one device. Excellent!
Update
After the last T18 walkie-talkie function video, NOMU specially makes a tutorial video for T18’s another unique function, external camera. How does it make a difference on T18?
As a very professional rugged phone, T18 presents you a rough and masculine appearance, and it has antenna for walkie-talkie, external camera for more convenient real-time shooting.
The walkie-talkie aspect is an intercom system which is able to make use of VHF 144-148 MHz and UHF 430-440 MHz frequencies and is even usable when the device is offline. So this is not an aspect that relies on internet connectivity to function and instead is in effect a real walkie-talkie which also happens to be a smartphone. The maximum operating range comes in at five kilometers which should be plenty of distance to account for most general use cases.
NOMU T18, as a rugged phone, is undoubtedly among the best in its category. It features an IP68 waterproof capability, drop-proof and dust-proof capability, and sports a high-profile 5200mAh Li-polymer battery. Among others, it sports a fingerprint sensor, NFC function which lets you enjoy fast free-ticket airport boarding verification, free-card payment, etc. Furthermore, for safety consideration, it comes with an SOS button for emergency calls.
And if all of the above is not enough to ignite your interest, the walkie-talkie and external camera function will. Walkie-talkie, just like it sounds, helps you communicate without the need for cellular connection or WiFi and can also connect to traditional walkie-talkie devices too. Also, the external camera can be used to do more interesting things, like recording cycling scenery, splendid mountain scenery, or recording your daily mood if you like. It’s worth mentioning that it is a hands-free design. You can mount it to collar or hat, then you can do any funny things.
The screen is very sensitive. Wet finger can work on it, even I wear glove, it’s still ok. In terms of this, it’s much better than my old phone, BV8000 Pro. And the drop-resistant ability is also better than BV8000 Pro. It got little damage after I dropped it for many times.
The battery is so big, the service time is usually over one day after full charge. I’m very happy with that. Most phones with 3000mAh battery don’t last for a day for heavy users like me. Thought the body of T18 is a little thick, but it matters little with 5200mAh big battery.
