(19-01-2018, 09:36 AM)dindahw I already patched my stock boot.img with magisk manager. And I will flash it using Miracle Box.
But as far as I know, Miracle Box can only read *.bin file to flash.
How to convert my patched boot.img to *.bin ?
Should I just renamed it to boot.bin, not need any converter software?
Thank you.

Edit: Will it be fine if I'm flashing my patched boot made by magisk, while my bootloader is still locked? As above, I will use miracle box as flashing software.

Just rename boot.img to boot.bin.
You can flash the patched boot on a locked bootloader

Thanks for the response. Smile
I will try to flash it now.

Thank you so much guys, you saved me from nightmares, this is the only way that worked for me having Accent Speed S8 (Mediatek 6580, Nougat 7).

Good morning, I am sorry, but... I did not understand correctly: do I have to install both versions of Magisk Manager?
Because in my device with one magisk version (file.img installed with sp flash tool) no work root permission.

no, just one version is needed
retry using the latest version 5.6.1 recently uploaded

Good morning,
I have some "small" problem applying this method.
Since I am convinced that I am making some mistakes, I describe step by step what I do:
(device switched off and disconnected from the computer)
1) I install magisk in the device (version 5.6.1).
2) copy the boot.img file to the device memory.
3) tap on "install" and choose "update boot image"
4) I go to the magisk folder, copy the "patched_boot.img" file generated by the program and paste it into the rom folder.
5) delete the "original" boot.img file
6) rename the magisk file in "boot.img"
7) run sp flash tool as administrator
8) I leave the "download" setting in the drop-down menu
9) deselect all the boxes except "boot"
10) I click on the green arrow "download"
11) I push and hold the "volume down" key
12) connect the device to the computer, part the red arrow, then the yellow one ...
ERROR: STATUS_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER (0xC00100007)
(sorry I used uppercase characters, but that's how they read on the computer display)
I also tried to format the "boot" partition and then reinstall, nothing
then I tried to perform a "firmware upgrade" with the modified ROM, nothing
please help me because now I am at the point that both the phone and the computer even when they are off vibrate with fear when I approach them.

re-flash the stock boot.img lets know if you're to boot the phone to home screen.
or create a new thread so we focus on it.
